Thrift score! Leopard print skirt
You know the feeling when you’ve been pining for a specific piece for what seems like ages.
You look up the retail prices and watch videos of thrifters hauling similar items, all of which adds fuel to the lust burning within you.
And then the feeling when you spot what could be the item that you’ve been searching, hunting, pining for in the corner of your eye at the thrift store and you make a beeline for it.
AND THEN IT TURNS OUT TO BE THE EXACT ITEM YOU HAVE BEEN WANTING AND IT IS IN GREAT CONDITION.
Pure elation shimmies up your spine.
I love that feeling. I love a spine-tingling thrift score.
So, for months now I’ve been seen leopard print skirts on Pinterest and Instagram and I’ve thinking about buying one for myself.
But since I’ve gotten back into thrifting, I’ve also tried to avoid buying anything new. Seeing other thrifters haul leopard print skirts made me hell-bent on thrifting one for myself.
It finally happened like two weeks ago. I stopped by the thrift store and rummaged through some clothes they had outside on tables.
Found a slip dress that and a BCBG jacket. Then I went inside the store and found a pair of white sneakers (WHICH I’VE ALSO REALLY BEEN WANTING).
So there I am, already high from finding sneakers in my size in great condition and I make my way to the skirts.
And there it was.
It wasn’t even between clothes, it was hung on the end of the rack. I snatched it up, surveyed it quickly and, internally, squealed. Maybe I even let a squeal out, not sure. Recalling it now is a bit of a blur.
I don’t know recall the exact cost, but it was by my calculations about $2.
The skirt is a stretch material. It’s the exact print that I’ve been looking for and it fits me!
I am thrilled.
I really want to wear this skirt every day because it can be worn in so many ways but I’ve managed to limit my wear to once a week.
I’m sure I’ll feature it in a lookbook or something soon.
This was the ultimate trendy thrift score. I hope you enjoyed this lil’ featurette and if you’ve already got a leopard print number in your closet that you’ve styled and written about, please do tell!
Until next time!
